1. Did you know? 3.0

I felt this video was very up to date with its current information about technology. It really amazed me at how much technology in the past ten years has changed. In today’s modern world we are so bet on technology for our everyday life. Computers control everything, cell phones help keep us in contact with everyone. In today’s world we are so dependent on technology. With out it who knows were we would be.

2. Mr. Winkle Wakes

This video had a lot of important facts about schools and teaching. Many of the facts made me realize that a lot of schools and teachers have yet to catch up to. In many Mobile public schools they do not have the technology available to them that in the future can help them out with there future jobs. Technology is a key in today’s world and without it who knows where we would be.

3. Sir Ken Robinson: The Importance of Creativity

Sir Ken Robinson’s video was extremely amazing he provided information that teachers can us so much in the future. He made it clear to me that art, drama, and music are just as important as English, math, science and social studies. In today’s schools creativity is everything. We as future teachers we should always encourage our students to always think outside the box and be creative.

4. Cecelia Gault Interview Sir Ken Robinson

In this video Sir Ken Robinson finds where the students strengths are and also there weaknesses. Its important to allow students to be creative, when they are focused the think outside of the box they become excited to learn. From then on they will be excited to learn.

5. Vicki Davis: Harness Your Students Digital Smarts

Ms. Davis class is so excited about learning. She has introduced learning to the students through different types of technology and has caused the students to be excited about learning. I think that it’s truly amazing how her class is able to connect with students all around the world and learn things about them from inside a classroom.

  1. If you reread what you wrote about the first four videos you provide no clue at all as to what was covered in them. It would be easy to conclude that you never watched them. In the future you will have to do a much better job in conveying to the reader what you watched/heard/read and how you reacted to what was being said.

Maybe the video on Vicki Davis meant something to you. But just maybe.

Late and not up to the standards I expect in this class.

  2. Dr. Strange is right, it's kinda hard to tell what you understood about the videos because your posts are so brief. I believe that he wants us to understand as future teachers, we should learn how to use technology effectively; however by doing so how that would stimulate creativity. I hope EDM310 helps us achieve these goals this semester.

  3. Ashleigh,
I really like your comment about the use and availability of technology in public schools today. There are very few professions nowadays that do not depend on some form of advanced technology. It is important for schools to give exposure to students, so that they will have experience in the workplace. The reality of life is that not all students graduate from high school and go on to college where they can take advanced computing courses related to their field. Some students need computer and technology training in secondary school. Technology is KEY and I am not sure if people can properly communicate with others in the world without it.
